Doris and Mona Spend the Night by Alex

Doris and Mona is a segment brought to you by Alex and her friend Allison and accessories and props from the store they work at. These are the displays they make, and these are their stories.

Doris: This is awkward. I thought this was going to be fun but we're just watching The X-Files. It's only 10:30. On a Saturday.

Mona: I am very unhappy.

Doris: I had no idea this is what slumber parties were like.

Mona: This is no slumber party. When I was a girl, we played kissing games and got into the parents' liquor. Once at Meriweather Potts twelfth birthday we played with the Ouiji board and summoned the spirit of Epaphroditus Sneer, a 19th century apothecary who was hanged for running a larceny ring. He ended up possessing Tabitha Cuthbert through most of middle school.

Doris: Is that why I was never allowed to stay the night at anyone's home?

Mona: That was because Lulu Gifford-Charles set Carolee McGee's bathroom on fire in retaliation for a particularly gruelling truth or dare session.

Doris: Oh.

Alex: Not to be that guy, but can you two maybe quiet down? Netflix is really quiet and lord knows Scully is a soft-talker!

Doris & Mona: (exchange eye-roll)

Alex: Can you guys even believe how often Scully misuses 'beg the question'? Hashtag: Look it up!

Mona: Oh god.

Doris: I need a drink.

Mona: There's not enough liquor in the world.
